What You’ve Always Wanted to Ask about Working at Kaser

Kaser Blasting & Coatings is always hiring.

Our job posts, while abundant, don’t always get into the nitty-gritty details of what we offer. So if you’ve ever wondered about compensation, benefits, and time off, here’s what you need to know.

Compensation

Kaser does not require previous industry experience. If you’re new to blasting and coating, we’ll start you at $17 – $19 an hour, and we’ll teach you how to hang and package parts. Once you’ve demonstrated comfort and reliability with those tasks, we’ll train and promote you into the niche best suited to your skills: forklift, blasting, pretreatment, liquid coating, powder coating, or a combination thereof.

Opportunities for overtime are usually abundant, and paid at time and a half.

Of course, employees with previous experience will be paid accordingly. Wage will be discussed at the interview.

Advancement Opportunities

Full time employees will undergo three performance reviews in their first year: at two months, six months, and one year. That’s three opportunities for reliable, high-performing employees to advance in the first year. After that, reviews will be held annually.

Health, Dental, & Vision

After two months of full-time employment, team members become eligible for health insurance, for which Kaser pays 80% of the premium. Our current provider is United Healthcare. Employees who sign up for health insurance through our group plan are automatically enrolled in a dental, vision, and a $25,000 life insurance policy at no additional cost.

Time Off

Team members are eligible for paid holidays and PTO after one year of full-time employment. Kaser offers 5 paid holidays a year: New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Additionally, the blast and powder shops typically shut down production for the week between Christmas and New Year’s, giving employees the option to stay home with their families (work opportunities remain available to those who want them).

I’ll be honest: it’s hard work. The powder shop in particular is a grind – our throughput is tremendous, and requires each and every employee to give 110% every day. If you’re up for the challenge, we need you on our team.
